Polysilazane Ceramic Coating Resin

Polysilazane Ceramic Coating Resin

SR-6500 Polysilazane Ceramic Coating Resin is a low-viscosity, solvent-free organopolysilazane resin with a silicon-nitrogen (Si-N) backbone, designed for one-component coating systems with ambient-temperature or heat-assisted curing.

The reactive Si-N bonds enable moisture-assisted curing and oxidative conversion, forming a dense three-dimensional crosslinked network. The cured film provides high hardness, strong adhesion, hydrophobicity, heat resistance, and resistance to corrosion and surface contamination, making it suitable for ceramic, metal, glass and high-performance protective coatings.

Product Description

SR-6500 is a low-viscosity, solvent-free organopolysilazane resin featuring a silicon-nitrogen backbone. It is designed for one-component coating systems with ambient-temperature or heat-assisted curing.

The reactive Si-N bonds enable SR-6500 to undergo moisture-assisted curing and oxidative conversion, forming a dense three-dimensional crosslinked network. The cured film provides high hardness, strong adhesion, hydrophobicity, heat resistance, and resistance to corrosion and surface contamination.

With its low viscosity and excellent substrate adhesion, SR-6500 can be applied to metals, alloys, glass, ceramic materials, coated surfaces, and selected plastics such as PP, PC, PVC and PMMA. It can be applied by wiping, dipping, spraying or brushing, depending on the substrate and coating requirements.

Instructions for Use

1. For spray application, dry argon or high-purity nitrogen is recommended as the atomizing or protective gas where practical. Avoid humid compressed air, which may accelerate premature curing and may affect coating appearance.

2. SR-6500 is compatible with selected non-protic organic solvents, including hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, ethers, ketones, and esters. Solvent compatibility should be confirmed by application testing before use.

3. The product contains reactive amine-functional components. Appropriate personal protective equipment and adequate ventilation should be maintained during handling and application.

4. SR-6500 is moisture-sensitive and can react with water, alcohols, acids, and bases. Avoid direct contact with these materials and keep the product protected from moisture during storage and processing.

5. Clean tools immediately after use with a suitable solvent, such as acetone or turpentine. Once fully cured, the coating is highly resistant to conventional solvents and may require mechanical removal or treatment with an appropriate alkaline cleaning solution.

Safety Precautions

Always read and follow the latest Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling and use.

Wear suitable chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and appropriate respiratory protection when required by the application environment and risk assessment.

Provide adequate ventilation during application.

Avoid contact with moisture, water, alcohols, acids, and bases.

Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized personnel.

Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area and protect from heat, moisture, and ignition sources.

Do not mix product waste with water, alcohols, acids, bases, or other incompatible materials.

Dispose of unused product and contaminated materials in accordance with applicable local regulations.
